August 2nd, 2009 hair review, African Wonders, Nutress Hair, Dr. Miracles, hair care

Today I went out on a limb and tried out some new products. I received all of these products courtesy of last week’s product swap. My main issues are moisture, shine, and body.
I started out doing a pre-poo with Nutress Hair’s Instant Conditioner and Natural Reconstructor.Purpose: Nutress Hair instant Conditioner adds body and Lustre to all types of hair. pH balanced formula, gentle for daily use. This was my first pre poo and I definitely could feel the moisture and it also served as a great detangler! I have thicker hair, so I ended up having to use a lot of this product, but it definitely did exactly what it was designed for. |
Next, I used Nutress Hair’s Protein Pack Shampoo Nutress Hair’s Instant Conditioner and Natural Reconstructor.Purpose: A Protein-rich remoisturizing shampoo for damaged, dry hair. Formulated with special moisturizing ingredients to scientifically aid in restoring hair’s natural moisture balance sheen, and manageability.I have to say that I really didn’t get much from this product while using it. My hair honestly felt kind of dry and limp and at this point I was a little concerned that maybe this was a bad idea. However, in the product’s defense I had a LOT of product in my hair from yesterday, so it’s possible that there was still some remnants left and that’s why it felt gunky. I really liked the outcome of my hair, so I won’t blame the product. As I said this was my first pre-poo, so I’m not sure what I was supposed to experience. From today’s use, I would definitely rank the conditioner over the shampoo. |
Next I applied African Wonders Heat Protectant and Setting Lotion and did a roller set and sat under the dryer for what felt like eternity.Purpose: Light protective coating helps prevent damage from blow dryers, curling irons hot combs and the sun. Made with soy, wheat and keratin protein plus Vitamin B-5 (pan-thenol) and vitamin E plus Aloe and a sunscreen. Leaves hair soft while it locks in curls and a high gloss sheenMy hair didn’t have the normal brittle feeling it does after applying setting lotion and sitting under the dryer, so I’d say the Heat Protectant aspect worked like a charm. With the setting lotion, when they say apply a generous amount..TAKE HEED! I over sprayed and my curls didn’t come out quite as bouncy as I normally like. |
I finished off the day with Dr Miracles Healing Oil Sheen Spray.Purpose: Creates fabulous shine and is actually good for your hair and scalpOf all of the products, I have to say that Dr. Miracles wins for the day! Picture 1 is my hair after I wrapped and unwrapped it. Picture 2 is after applying Dr. Miracles Healing Oil Sheen Spray. I have a major issue with dryness, so I’m interested to try this product out for daily use. |
